Balatonföldvár

It is located between Szántód and Szárszó in the south shore of the Hungarian see. It is the only settlement with city rank in this micro region. The story of this resort place started in 1896 when the local bath association started its fruitful activity and formed the former Földvárpuszta into a nice resort place. The nice resort houses reminding us of the atmosphere of the turn of the century, the promenade in the shore with the protected plane-trees and the port are the heritage of the period mentioned. The Celtic promenade on the top of the loess wall provides nice view to the lake. The settlement has given home to famous and respectful domestic and international sailing competitions for many decades; music festivals attract lot of visitors here. Its open-air stage has started to be busy again just recently: concerts, theatrical and other performances are held here. The beach is free of charge; animators provide variable programs; the waves of the Lake provide good possibilities to those who love the water sports. In Földvár everybody can find something typical in the shore of the Lake Balaton from the fried dough with garlic to the sunset. Come and visit us and take the plunge into relaxation.
